Do you know someone who gives endlessly? Do they give heart, their time, and resources to others without even thinking of claiming recognition for it? Do they pick up trash in your neighborhood? Do they inspire children? Do they volunteer? Or do they help lead a cause for improvement, such as bringing a greenway through your community? Or do they quietly knit hats and scarves for those who have none? Do they proclaim affection for our community and make it a more positive place to live? Have they taken steps to make the Roanoke Valley a more wonderful place?
Who is your Community Champion?
WVMP, 101.5 the music place would like to acknowledge and honor, each month, a local resident of the Roanoke Valley, who may not ordinarily receive credit for his or her actions, yet who is a hero to many...or to one. Community Champions come in all sizes and shapes, ages, genders, and race; their common thread is their belief in service for others, and their love of the community where they live.
Please join us in celebrating the champions in our community! Each month, send in your nominations by the 25th day of the month, with their name, contact information, why you believe they are a Community Champion, and why you believe you've got a friend. We will feature the selected Community Champion of the Month on our website, recognize them on air for a month, and provide the Champion a certificate for a meal for four at the Fork Restaurant of their choice.
