Hi! My name is Cricket, and I’m a terrier mix - Schnauzer? Maybe. Cairn terrier? Possibly. But am I positively adorable? DEFINITELY!!
My foster mom is always telling me what a sweet, good little girl I am, and she knows me better than anyone else. I am house-trained, but if you aren’t around to let me outside, if you have papers at the door I’ll use them every time! I know how to sit for a treat, and I’m really gentle when I take it. I also know “stay,” but don’t ask me to stay for a long time - I get too excited!
If you’ve been gone a while, I do this really adorable dance (my foster mom always says so!) and twirl, jump, twirl… I like to be with people, and I’ll probably follow you every time you leave the room. I lovelovelove to go outside and run really fast around the yard, and burrowing down in a pile of leaves is really fun! If you throw a ball I’ll chase it, and sometimes I’ll even bring it back to you! I live with two really big cats and they don’t bother me and I don’t bother them.
My foster mom also has feral cats she feeds on the deck, and when I see them I just ::stop:: in my tracks and don’t go outside - I don’t chase them, and she says that’s a very good girl! I like to ride in the car and put my face in the wind, but if you stop for long I get a little nervous; once the car is moving again I love it. My foster mom has a theory that maybe I rode in a car once and when my people stopped the car they just left me; I’m not thinking about those bad times because I know all these good times are ahead! I just take my time figuring out you’re my friend and I can trust you, and then it’s ON!! There aren’t many little kids around my foster mom’s house, but when we go out I see kids and they seem A-OK to me. I don’t bark much, and when I do it’s usually to tell you something, like I need to go out or someone is coming to the door. I stop when you ask me to almost every time!
